Nearly 900 attend LYFE Women's Conferences, focus shifts to 2011
The 28th annual LYFE Women's Conferences at Baptist Bible College filled the campus during two successful weekends, with organizers already putting together details for next year's events.
The conferences, carrying the theme "Straight Talk for Real Life," drew nearly 900 people and featured LYFE Hours with Lynelle Buchanan and Sherrie Holloway, a dozen workshops to equip and encourage women to live their faith every day, and great performances by guest musicians Damaris Carbaugh and Michael Faircloth.
Next year's conference theme will be "Imagine." The dates are June 2-4 and 9-11, 2011.
Details will be available at www.bbc.edu/lyfe later this year.
For the 2011 conferences, the LYFE Hour speaker will be Joanna Arp. She has been ministering at the LYFE conferences since the first one in 1983. Martha Bolton, author and humorist, will return as banquet speaker, and Harris III, a Christian illusionist, will perform at the opening session.
With so many positive reviews of this year's conference and with next year's conference in motion, BBC is already beginning to "imagine" the impact it will have on ladies' lives.
Two strong weekends
The annual conferences are more than delicious meals, wonderful fellowship, great music, passionate worship, and challenging talks. They also present opportunities to build into the lives of BBC students.
The 2010 conferences raised over $12,000 in scholarships for 14 students.
LYFE stands for Living Your Faith Everyday. It is led by LYFE Director Diane Lytle, who has the help of a planning team that meets frequently throughout the year to work out all details.
"This was truly an all-BBC event," Diane said. "Our LYFE Hour speakers, most of our workshop leaders, and dozens of volunteers were all part of the BBC family."
"Praise the Lord for the great spirit that everyone displayed as we transformed the campus into a premier Bible conference for women. I was thrilled to hear the testimonies of so many women as they shared how God had changed their lives through LYFE."
