Middle States Reaffirms BBC&S' Accreditation
CLARKS SUMMIT—On June 22, 2005, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaffirmed the accreditation of Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania. According to Executive Committee Member Daniel Chambliss, BBC&S was also commended on the quality of its self-study. Originally accredited by Middle States in 1984, BBC&S will not be responsible for another Periodic Review Report until 2010.
Dr. Barry Phillips was very pleased with the outcome and felt the experience was valuable for BBC&S. "Accreditation is valuable because an outside body provides feedback for pursuing academic excellence," he said.
Dr. Phillips also shared that accreditation is important for students who are considering attending BBC. "Whenever you deal with a national accrediting body, it helps you understand what the outside academic community is pursuing and provides credibility to prospective students and their families."
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education accredits institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and other locations abroad. Middle States is a regional accrediting agency that is recognized nationally.
