Seminary dean leading tour of Holy Land
Dr. Lee Kliewer, a veteran guide of Holy Land tours and Assistant Seminary Dean and Registrar at Baptist Bible Seminary, will lead students, pastors, and others on a special tour of key sites in March.
The ten-day tour of the Holy Land will run from March 9-18, and will include Bethlehem, Mt. Carmel, Jerusalem, Cana, Nazareth and many more key Biblical and historical locations.
Details, including a schedule, cost, and registration information, are available at www.bbc.edu/annualtour.
Gain deep understanding
The trip offers invaluable hands-on experience in the land where Jesus lived. It will focus on those locations most important in Christ's ministry on earth.
Those on the tour will also gain a deeper understanding of the Old Testament and the area's strategic position in Biblical times through modern day.
"So much of the land is interwoven into the culture and context of the writing of scripture," Dr. Kliewer said. "It can help you understand both the Old Testament periods and the writing of the four gospels by allowing you to see the trade routes, the climate, and the geography of specific locations that are so important to the Biblical narrative."
Veteran leader
Dr. Kliewer has conducted tours of the Holy Land for 15 years. As an experienced tour leader, pastor, and BBS professor, he is able to offer significant knowledge of the areas visited and their impact on biblical and church history.
The trip can be taken for seminary course credit in conjunction with the two-hour independent study course "Historical Geography of Israel."
