Students traveling, serving throughout summer

Summer ministries and missions enable students to gain hands-on experience and leadership skills while serving others. The training they receive becomes an invaluable resource as they move into careers and ministry.

Students on the BBC Summer Ministry Team will be traveling and serving throughout their summer vacation at camps and conferences around the United States. Each member uses their individual strengths to make a real impact on kids for Christ as a team. They will be serving as camp counselors and worship leaders, and program coordinators.

Scheduled stops include:
June 14-27: Camp Patmos - Kelly's Island, OH
June 28-July 11: New Life Island - Frenchtown, NJ
July 12-July 25: Rhoades Grove - Chambersburg, PA
July 26-August 8: Rumney Bible Conference - Rumney, NH

In addition to their official duties, they will also be forming relationships, sharing their testimonies, having fun, and teaching kids about Christ.

The team members are:
Ben Hixson (Team Leader)
Josh Nemmers
Mike Brandon
Kari Shirk
Hannah Quigley

Serving worldwide
Two groups of students traveled to South Africa in May. The groups went to different areas, working with missionaries from Evangelical Baptist Missions and the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism.

During their time in South Africa the groups served in a number of different areas, including street evangelism, ministering to orphans, comforting AIDS victims, and assisting in church-planting efforts.

Additionally, BBC&S students and staff members will be traveling to approximately 16 different countries, including Australia, Japan, Uganda, Israel, Ukraine, and Brazil.
