Graduates encouraged to serve others completely
Baptist Bible College & Seminary honored 212 graduates on May 8 during a special 77th commencement program on campus.
Graduates included residents of 28 states and 5 other nations. They earned degrees ranging from one-year Bible Certificates to PhDs. View a list of graduates here.
BBC&S President Jim Jeffery encouraged graduates, families, friends, faculty, and staff in attendance at the Phelps Student Center through his commencement address. His message, from the book of Colossians, was titled "Serving Completely in Christ."
"The word of God in the book of Colossians challenges us to serve completely in Christ out of the overflow of our relationship with Him, filling our lives and cascading into the lives of others," President Jeffery said.
The address focused on four overflows to enable graduates to serve completely in Christ: the truth about Christ, the gospel of Christ, our life in Christ, and the body of Christ.
The BBC Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. David Harris, performed special music, including "A Mighty Fortress is Our God," and "Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal." The invocation was given by John Greening, Vice Chairman of the BBC&S Board of Trustees. The Prayer of Dedication was presented by Dr. Cary Lantz, Director of the Graduate School Counseling Program.
Those in attendance sang the college hymn, "Holding Fast the Faithful Word" by W.S. Miller.
