Winter Concert features special performances
The works of composers Felix Mendelssohn and Giovanni Croce will be among those performed by Baptist Bible College faculty and students at three special December concerts.
The annual Winter Concert in the Murphy Memorial Library includes appearances by the BBC Chamber Singers, Concert Chorale, and Vocal and Instrumental Ensembles. Works of composers Franz Liszt, William Walton, and John Rutter are also among the featured selections. A wide range of traditional Christmas carols will also be performed.
Concert will be December 12 at 8 p.m. and December 13 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. A special dessert reception will be held one hour before each program in the Jackson Hall rotunda.
Unique venue
The concert was held in the BBC library for the first time last year. The library was built as a chapel in 1929. The chapel, constructed to glorify God in both function and design, was made to resemble a cross. Latin inscriptions that adorn the library are translated "Praise the Lord."
The library was refurbished over the summer. The work included restoration of the original floor. Read more about the renovations here.
Dessert and concert tickets are $10. Discounted tickets at $5 each are available for students, alumni, parents, and employees.
Tickets can be ordered online here.
