Paul told Timothy to train himself to be godly. Godliness is a work God does in us through His Spirit, yet He commands our cooperation. Godliness is a work of the Spirit, but He's never done it without our intense effort.
What does it mean to train ourselves to be godly? Doesn't that simply result in works-righteousness? If I long to be godly, what would that training look like? This year’s Men’s Conference will consider what it means to train ourselves to be godly and how we might go about that.

Lead Pastor, Northridge Church in Rochester, NY. David served as a youth pastor in Harrisburg, PA for over eight years before moving to Northridge more than 12 years ago. He graduated from BBC in 1991 and BBS in 2001. He has been married for 22 years and has three daughters: Ali (18), Morgan (16), and Emily (14). His passion is to lead a church that makes more and better disciples.
