ABOUT THE LIBRARY
Murphy Memorial Library serves the students, faculty, and staff of Baptist Bible College & Seminary. It is also open to the surrounding community. The library is named after BBC&S’s first president, Richard J. Murphy.
The library currently holds approximately 100,000 volumes and maintains about 250 print subscriptions. Online resources total about 16,000 journal titles in various databases, with approximately 8,000 titles available in full-text. Additional holdings include CDs, videos, DVDs, and microfilm items. Within the Library areas are provided for viewing or listening to audiovisual materials as well as working on projects.
Computers are available for Internet browsing, printing, and searching the Library catalog and databases.
Two first-floor reference rooms provide additional resources for graduate and seminary students. The Graduate Reference Room and Seminary Reference Room each contain collections specific to the respective programs as well as course reserves for current classes of that school.
Murphy Memorial Library is a participating member of several consortia whose libraries support borrowing by BBC&S’s students, staff and faculty. These consortia include the Southeastern Pennsylvania Theological Library Association (SEPLA) and Northeast Pennsylvania Library Network (NPLN).
