Named after the late Dr. Wendell Kempton, this $5.6 million, 62,000 square-foot expansionof the Phelps Student Center will include new recreation and training areas.
This first phase of the expansion project faces the Quad area and stretches just past the former tennis courts. A courtyard area will temporarily fill the corner space between the Phelps Student Center and the Kempton Athletic Center.
The second phase will include a structure to connect the two buildings. It is estimated to cost about $8 million.
