Required Courses and Electives
Baptist Bible College's Master of Arts program gives you a great opportunity to increase your capacity for ministry leadership right where you are.
You can meet your specific needs and fit learning within your own busy schedule.
The Master of Arts three credit-hour courses are offered online during eight-week sessions. Sessions begin in August, October, January, March, and May.
In completing a degree, half of the 30 credit hours you need come from courses in the required area. You can choose courses in four core areas: Bible, Theology, Interpretation, and Communication. The balance can be taken from other areas as you form your customized concentration.

The 30-credit Master of Arts program is divided into two main parts – required and elective areas. You take at least five courses, totaling 15 credit hours, from the required core.
Required areas of study are Bible, Theology, Interpretation, and Communications. You take one class from each of the four areas. A fifth course can be chosen from the Bible, Theology, or Interpretation group.

Elective areas of study complement the core of required courses. You have several options in satisfying the elective requirements:
- Other M.A. classes in the required area
- M.A. classes in the elective area
- Other BBGS distance learning options
- Other BBGS on-campus classes
- Preapproved study
- Transfer credits from other accredited graduate programs, recognized training programs, the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, Pilgrimage Educational Resources, or other experienced-based learning.
