Overview

God has called you to fulfill a certain role – to give people life-changing hope. Whether you recently completed your undergraduate studies or you’ve been in career ministry for decades, BBC can equip you with the skills to open the door to a broader career and more effective ministry.

Degree tracks
The M.S. in Counseling Ministries degree is offered in a 48 or 60 credit-hour track format. Both tracks incorporate classroom learning and practical experience.

The 48 credit-hour track will prepare you well whether your goals are to pursue licensure, or minister more effectively in a non-licensed role. Some states (including Pennsylania) will require you to complete 12 additional elective credits prior to applying for licensure.

The 60 credit-hour track is designed for those students who intend to pursue licensure in states that require a 60 credit-hour master's degree.

Online classes
Coursework for the M.S. in Counseling Ministries degree can be completed on campus and online.

Beginning in the 2010 fall semester, students in the program will have the option of completing all coursework online with the exception of three one-week intensives that will be held on campus. Intensives will be scheduled at the beginning, middle and toward the completion of the student's degree work.

Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped …

1. For a professional counseling career or other ministry leadership positions.
2. To apply to test for certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
3. To apply for licensure to minister as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

In addition to classroom knowledge, you’ll receive over 950 hours of counseling experience. Click here to learn more about the Love Life Marriage and Family Center, where you will complete a three-credit, supervised counseling practicum.
