Choosing a Concentration
At Baptist Bible Graduate School, choosing a concentration in your master’s program lets you tailor your academic experiences to meet your specific goals.
The 30 credit-hour Master of Science in Christian School Education degree prepares you to grow your ministry and teaching career.
All classes are offered in a unique summer-module format. Some are also available in a distance-learning format. Courses are scheduled on a rotating basis. This allows you to earn your degree in as little as three summers.
Curriculum and Instruction Concentration
You will gain the tools needed to develop and put into place curriculums based on a biblical worldview and appropriate for a student’s age and skill level.
You will also be equipped with the latest in teaching practices and methodology. A comprehensive project over the last half of your studies will tie together your learning experiences.
Meeting a Need
The ability to “train up a child in the way he should go” on a level that is equally stimulating and attainable is a much-needed skill in today’s schools. Men and women who can establish clear goals and motivate students to reach them are in high demand.
Core Courses
This concentration includes a biblical and academic base.
- Classroom Management and School-Home Relationships
- Contemporary Issues in Education
- Critical Thinking Skills & Integration
- Instructional Supervision
- Introduction to Learning Disabilities
- Principles and Methods of Teaching and Learning
- Teaching Bible
- Your choice of four credits of Electives (all education, theology and selected counseling courses may be taken as electives).
After the Tassel
When you graduate from Baptist Bible Graduate School, you will be equipped to develop age-appropriate curriculum and accurately assess learning in your classrooms in a way that is consistent with a Christian philosophy of education.
Because the program emphasizes theory and research skills, you will graduate with a basis for pursuing post-graduate studies. On a practical level, you will have the skills needed to succeed as a curriculum supervisor.
Real People
“The courses have equipped me in very practical ways. They have given me new methods of teaching but also taught me the ‘why’ of Christian school teaching – meaning imparting a Biblical mindset to the student so that the student can glorify the Lord in what ever they choose in the future.”
- Steve Poirot, New Tribes Mission Missionary in Chihuahua, Mexico
