ACADEMICS » Master of Education Concentration
Choosing a Concentration
At Baptist Bible College, choosing a concentration in your master’s program lets you tailor your academic experiences to meet your specific goals.
The 30 credit-hour Master of Education degree prepares you to grow your ministry and teaching career. Courses are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Educational Administration Concentration
You will be equipped to lead and minister to your students, faculty, and staff on spiritual and academic levels. You will also learn the latest in contemporary teaching practices and methodology. A comprehensive project over the last half of your studies will tie together your learning experiences.
Meeting a Need
Administrators are called to exercise leadership and competency which then permeates faculty and students alike.
Besides the day-to-day operations of a school, you are required to uphold a biblical standard, a spiritually centered atmosphere, and the highest levels in academics. Whether you are an aspiring administrator or a seasoned professional, the Educational Administration concentration will prepare you with practical, leadership, and biblical skills needed to successfully manage a Christian school.
This concentration includes a biblical and academic base.
- Contemporary Issues in Education
- Leading in Educational Settings
- Instructional Supervision
- Personnel Administration
- Public Relations and Development
- School Counseling Programs: Model, Development & Management
- School Finance
- School Law
- Your choice of two credits of Electives (all education, theology and selected counseling courses may be taken as electives).
After the Tassel
When you graduate from Baptist Bible College, you will be better equipped to excel at the variety of functions required of school leaders.
Because the program emphasizes theory and research skills, you will graduate with the basis for pursuing post graduate studies.
On a practical level, you will be prepared to handle school leadership tasks including records, finances, school policies, curriculum, school counseling and public relations.
“Baptist Bible College offered a rigorous, biblical educational experience focused specifically on the ministry to which I have been called. The course work has offered practical and implementable content that encourages personal excellence to the glory of God. Coursework in school finance and personnel management have had direct application that was put in to practice as soon as I returned to school.”
- Mark McClelland, Dean of Students at Lima Christian School in Springwater, New York
“When I graduated from Baptist Bible College with a master’s degree in Educational Administration, I was teaching in the classroom. I am now getting ready to begin my third year as the principal of the middle school. I cannot say enough about how this program prepares a Christian school teacher or administrator to work within a Christian school. Not only are the professors building into you and increasing your knowledge, but you have the opportunity to rub elbows with other Christian school professionals that are doing the same thing you are. It gives you a chance to share exciting things and challenges. Iron sharpens iron.”
- Steve Bowers, Middle School Principal at Peoria Christian School in Peoria, Illinois
