Meeting your needs
You want to be prepared for any ministry God lays on your heart.
You crave theology, leadership development, and mentoring relationships. You also want classes or an earned degree you can get easily from your home or office.
Our MSBM can fulfill your desire for additional education and prepare you to engage in more effective ministry in your church, community, or in missions. It is a more general degree designed for the way the world of ministry has changed over the past 20 years.
The flexible program is perfect for:
- Those in church or ministry organization leadership who want to be more equipped for service through greater knowledge and understanding of the Bible.
-
Lay people interested in teaching or leading Bible studies and small groups.
Specialized tracks include Bible teaching, small group ministry, youth ministry, spiritual formation, and cross-cultural studies. You can receive up to 15 credits from transfer or portfolio assessment, where you can receive credit for experience-based learning.
To learn more, call 800.451.7664 or email gradadmissions@bbc.edu.

Matching your requirements
The program is divided into two main parts, with each class an eight week, three credit hour course:
1. Four required classes out of the areas of Bible, Theology, Communications Skills, and Biblical Interpretation. What classes you take depend on your previous Bible education.
2. Six elective classes. Courses may be selected from any of the Graduate School’s distance learning or on-campus courses, with at least one from the Bible, Theology, or Biblical Interpretation area. This allows you to personalize the degree to meet your needs in your ministry setting, such as an International Ministry concentration. You can also choose the Ministry Organizational Leadership concentration from Pilgrimage Educational Resources.
Missionaries under the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism may earn the MSBM through a specially-crafted concentration in International Ministry. Electives in this concentration are provided through ABWE’s Center for Excellence in Biblical Ministry.
Equipping you for greater service
You can design your own program and develop a course mixture that is unique to your needs and skills.
You are able to earn your degree in two years or less without relocating to campus through our online and DVD courses. If desired, you can also utilize our campus-based course options. Some options are listed here.
You will further your knowledge through courses in theology, ministry leadership, counseling, and Christian school education. The biblical worldview you will develop, as well as the mentoring you will receive, will help you apply your education in your own sphere of influence.
