What's new for golfers and caddies at the 2008 Golf-a-thon?

This year, there will be a Closest to the Pin contest with a $500 award!

Contribute to a special Golf-a-thon scholarship and help a needy student return to school for the fall semester.

Play as often as you want for the opportunity to win a (donated) $500 Dick's Sporting Goods gift certificate.

At Hole #10, golfers and caddies pay $5 per try for the opportunity to win the $500 award.

All monies received will be credited to the tuition bill of a needy student who is in jeopardy of not returning for the Fall Semester.

At the tee, the golfer or caddy will draw the name of a club from a hat, and will hit the ball from the white tee with that club. Some will have a putter and others will have a driver - you won't know until you step on the tee, but everyone will hit from the same distance.

The contest will run all morning from 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. The winner will be announced at the celebration dinner.
