Council on Disensational Hermeneutics

Second Annual Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics

Where: Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA
When: September 23-24, 2009
What: “The Dispensational Understanding of the New Covenant”

About the Council
The 2009 meeting follows the first Council on Dispensational Hermeneutics, held in September 2008 on the Baptist Bible Seminary campus in Clarks Summit, PA.

Organized by Seminary Dean Dr. Mike Stallard, a group of more than 20 top scholars and ministry leaders met for two full days in 2008, discussing strategies and approaches to raise the level of authority and scholarship associated with more traditional forms of dispensational theology.

Materials from the 2008 council meetings, including a statement of conclusions, are included on this page. Equipping modern church leaders with a stronger academic basis for defending dispensationalism and interpreting the Bible accordingly was the focus of the 2008 gathering of scholars from across the country.

The 2009 event is set to be larger. It also coincides with the 16th Barndollar Lectureship Series. The featured speaker this year is Dr. Elliot Johnson of Dallas Theological Seminary. Dr. Johnson is founder of the Asian Theological Seminary and has taught and ministered in a dozen countries.
