Special features on new 75th anniversary website

An online home to share memories, an interactive poll, and special audio, video and photo sections are highlights of Baptist Bible College & Seminary’s updated 75th anniversary website.

Carrying the theme “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness,” BBC&S is marking the anniversary this school year at various events. The website is designed to take the celebration to students, alumni and friends of BBC&S worldwide.

Among the features:

• Interactive poll. Survey questions will be posed throughout the year asking visitors about their memories of BBC&S. The first survey prompted visitors to choose their favorite aspect of life at BBC.
• Home for memories. After voting, visitors can post comments related to the question. The recollections can be viewed by others and will be archived as questions change.
• Place to view photos. Visitors can recall and discover the BBC of yesterday and today. Look for more photos to be added.
• Video and audio clips. Events and stories are captured in pictures and sounds. Features are planned on President Jim Jeffery, alumni, faculty members, and coaches.
• Calendar of events. A listing of special activities is included. Many have special plans to mark the anniversary year.
  

BBC sets Community Appreciation Day
Service projects will take the place of classes for a day at Baptist Bible College next month.

Hundreds of students, faculty, and staff will participate in BBC’s Community Appreciation Day on Tuesday, November 6.

Mentoring, coaching focus of BBS conference
“Teaching Your People How to Walk With God” is the theme of Baptist Bible Seminary’s fall Minster’s Enrichment Conference. The semi-annual, one-day event is designed to assist and energize pastors and their spouses in their service.

It will be held Tuesday, November 13, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

BBC joins Pennsylvania Athletic Conference
Baptist Bible College has accepted an invitation to join the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) beginning in the 2008-09 academic year.

BBC will become the 12th full-time institution member of the conference and will join nearby Keystone College and Marywood University.

Homecoming time for recognition, celebration
Special recognitions for students and alumni highlighted Baptist Bible College & Seminary's annual Homecoming.

Many activities and ceremonies were held during the week ending Saturday, October 13. They included Parents Day and opportunities to mark the 75th anniversary of BBC&S.

Distance learning gets boost at BBC&S
Online course offerings, educational technology and support staff will grow at Baptist Bible College & Seminary with the help of a $100,000 grant.

The money was awarded by a family foundation. It will be used to improve buy new computer equipment and software, transfer existing courses into online courses, and market distance learning programs more effectively.
