New conference, new name

New conference, new name

Defender Athletics will compete in the Colonial States Athletic Conference beginning in the fall.

The new name was taken by the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, which BBC is moving to from the North Eastern Athletic Conference beginning with the 2008-09 season. BBC joins regional rivals Marywood University and Keystone College in the conference.

The change in conference name is effective July 1. A new logo should be available about the same time.

Members of the North Eastern Athletic Conference since 2004, the Defenders captured eight conference championships and made trips to the NCAA III National Championships in men's basketball and women's soccer and volleyball.

Baptist Bible looks forward to the new opportunities and advantages the CSAC will provide.

BBC, Keystone, and Philadelphia Biblical University, which also joins effective next year, join Cabrini College, Cedar Crest College, Centenary College, College of Notre Dame (MD), Gwynedd-Mercy College, Immaculata University, Marywood, Neumann College, and Rosemont College.

The Defenders compete in men's and women's cross country, basketball, soccer, and tennis. They also field teams in baseball, golf, softball and women's volleyball.
