Improvements make financial aid simpler
A renovated program at Baptist Bible College will simplify and improve the financial aid process for students. The improved program will affect new students who enter beginning with the Fall 2008 semester.
The change is part of an initiative to make the financial aid program more closely reflect the mission of the school, excellence in biblical education for effectiveness in ministry leadership.
"We want to be able to give more money to more students," said Vice President for Enrollment Services Glenn Amos. "This is the first step to accomplishing that goal."
The previous plan had many individual scholarships and merit-based awards. The new plan consolidates all of those funds, including a $250,000 scholarship budget increase, into a simple matrix based on need and merit. Details of the changes are available here.
BBC plans to add more ways for students to benefit from scholarship money in the coming year, Mr. Amos said.
"We want to make sure that our scholarship money more directly supports 'effectiveness in ministry leadership,'" he said.
Other colleges and universities have adopted similar financial aid plans, including Grace University, Anderson University and Gardner-Webb University.
