Grandparents Day focuses on family

Grandparents were able to experience a day of college life with their grandchildren at Baptist Bible College’s fifth annual Grandparents day.

Visitors from as far away as California and Maine came to campus on October 26 to visit their grandchildren. Nearly 200 attended classes with their grandchildren and took part in special Grandparents Day activities.

Activities included a special Grandparents Day chapel program, a College update from President Jim Jeffery, and a concert held at nearby Heritage Baptist Church. Grandparents were also able to get a free portrait taken with their grandchildren and attend BBC’s dramatic production of "And Then They Came for Me."

“We want to strengthen the family relationships between students and grandparents,” said event coordinator Lisa Konzelman. “We highly value the legacy, influence and experience that our grandparents have to offer our students.”

Grandparents Day is one among several family-oriented events at BBC. Parents Day coincides with Homecoming each year, and Welcome Weekend includes several sessions and activities specially tailored for parents.
