When did you become a believer?

I grew up in a Christian home and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior when I was five years old. I also had the privilege to attend Christian schools throughout my entire childhood. My parents were my main source of spiritual encouragement. They encouraged me to grow in my faith in Christ.

Where did you get your education?

I received a B.S. in Bible with an emphasis in Elementary Education here at Baptist Bible College. I chose this school largely because of the influence of my youth pastor and friends from my high school that also attended BBC. A choir from BBC visited my church, and that visit solidified my desire to choose BBC. While here, I enjoyed the small, home-like atmosphere on campus as well as the emphasis on ministry.
I also acquired my master’s degree in Christian school education from Baptist Bible Graduate School after teaching in a school in New Hampshire for two years. I continued teaching second grade for a total of six years in New Hampshire before moving here to Clarks Summit two years ago.

How did God direct you to come to BBC to teach? What do you enjoy about teaching here at BBC?

While I was still in graduate school, Sherry Wise told me of an opening to teach here. This was something I had always wanted to do, but I never imagined I would be granted the opportunity. My teaching focus here is on the Elementary Education pedagogy courses, specifically math and science. My responsibilities also include supervising student teachers. I particularly enjoy this mentoring of future teachers.

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy reading. One book that has been influential is John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life. As a child, I enjoyed reading the Anne of Green Gables series. I love doing things outside such as hiking and biking. Having grown up in New Hampshire, I also enjoy visiting the ocean. I would love to have a pet, but I don’t have enough spare time to take care of one!

Could you tell me about your family?
I have a younger brother in Maine and a sister in New Hampshire, who will be married in May. My family also has a six-year-old golden retriever. We are all avid fans of the Boston Red Sox.
