Day of Prayer

Day of Prayer

Baptist Bible College held its annual Day of Prayer on Tuesday. The event is designed to provide a time for the students to take a small break from classes, evaluate their spiritual lives, and pray for burdens that the Lord has lain on their hearts.

The event started on Monday night with an optional corporate worship service led by Dr. Chris Davis. The U-Night band led the students in worship through music.

Tuesday morning started with a continental breakfast provided for the students in the dormitories. Meanwhile, the staff and faculty met in the Cafetorium for a time of fellowship and prayer. The students then met in a corporate session led by President Jim Jeffery. The corporate session then concluded with a panel discussion on prayer.

Following the panel discussion, the students had the opportunity to choose from eight different workshops with topics such as “Can We Really Have a Prosperous Prayer Life?” and “The Role of the Mind in Prayer.”

During the afternoon, the students were encouraged to participate in two other prayer-oriented activities: a prayer vigil and a prayer walk. The prayer vigil was focused on BBC’s own Professor David Boehning and was held outside his office. Mr. Boehning has been actively battling cancer and is currently undergoing treatment for it. The Student Leadership Council designed the prayer walk, which is a walking route with checkpoints designated for prayer on various topics.

Each dorm concluded the Day of Prayer with a special devotional service.
