Students Enjoy End of the Year Activities

On Friday, April 28, students had the opportunity to experience a relaxing time of both good food and good entertainment. Friday night was BBC’s annual Spring Banquet—a semi-formal affair held at Genetti Manor in Dickson City. For anyone who loves dressing up, this event provided a great opportunity for a fun evening. When asked what she enjoyed most about the evening, sophomore Elise Galli exclaimed: “I loved preparing for the banquet ... It was so fun getting ready with the girls in my suite.”

Most students made sure to capture the excitement of the evening by posing for pictures with friends around the dinner table or outside at the Manor’s beautifully landscaped areas. “Taking pictures with friends was very fun. I even put a few on Facebook,” stated senior Michael Dewalt.

After dinner and desert were served, students enjoyed Christian artist Scott Krippayne’s musical talent. Michelle Hammaker, a Resident Director and member of the Admissions staff, said, “I really appreciate the honesty in Scott’s lyrics—he is one of my favorite Christian artists. I was so excited about being able to hear him perform tonight.”

Although the banquet ended on Friday evening, the weekend activities had just begun. Students were given the chance to sign up for trips held the day after the banquet. The four options offered included the opportunity to the Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, sightseeing in New York City, an overnight stay in Boston, or two days at the Great Wolf Lodge, an indoor water park in the Poconos. For many students, the fun-filled weekend provided them with just enough energy to make it through the last two weeks of the semester.
