The Department of English and Communications welcomed Rachel Wiren to the team in 2005. She came to BBC after teaching high school English in Owatonna, MI, for five years, and in Middletown, NY, for seven years. Throughout her twelve years of high school teaching experience, she has served as a yearbook advisor, play director, basketball and volleyball coach, and senior class advisor. She also began a softball program.

“I am most thankful to God for leading me into teaching which allows me to mentor young people. My favorite experiences at both high schools where I taught were the ones when a student came to know Christ or made decisions to live for Him,” Miss Wiren said. As she continues her ministry here at BBC, her responsibilities include teaching English composition and literature courses, as well as coordinating the College Writing Center.

When she's not teaching, Miss Wiren enjoys singing in church choir, coaching, and reading classic literature. She also has a burden to listen to the needs of others and guide them toward God and His solutions.
