Crew members grow, serve throughout summer

Summer Crew plays an invaluable role each year at BBC&S, with this year's six-member team preparing and maintaining the campus for guests and visitors who come for a range of events.

BBC&SMore than 3,000 people are expected to visit this summer. Crew members are kept busy with tasks that include cleaning, working in the Underground Cafe, serving as counselors for camps, assisting with conferences, and much more.

Work for the crew, which began after May Commencement, continues as new students begin to arrive on campus in August.

Events the crew is involved with include the LYFE Women's Conference, Defender and Big Blue sports camps, Teen Leadership Conferences, and LAUNCH.

Roddy Hannah, Assistant Provost for Student Development, supervises the team. This year's crewmembers are Ethan Balsano, Peter Bouraphael, Jonathan Brown, Kim Klotzbach, Samantha McKee, and Emily Thompson. Here's more about the members:

Ethan Balsano is from Medford, NY. He is a junior Sports & Recreational Ministries major who wants to minister to athletes and teams, leading others to faith in Jesus Christ.

Peter Bouraphael is a junior Counseling major from Kingston, NH. He would like to use his education to help broken families and those struggling with addiction.

Jonathan Brown has a love for people and adventure. He would like to use those passions to facilitate missions trips to other countries. He is junior Specialized Ministries major from Ringgold, GA.

Kim Klotzbach is an Office Administration major with an interest in working with a nonprofit Christian organization that focuses on church ministry or foreign missions. She is junior from Punta Gorda, FL.

Samantha McKee is a junior Office Administration major from Walworth, NY. She has a great love for BBC and its ministry in the lives of students. She is a member of the 2014 Student Leadership Council Executive Team.

Emily Thompson is a sophomore Counseling major from Homer, NY. After graduation, she hopes to be able to give back to the community by counseling young women and victims of abuse.
