Student leaders getting ready for fall

A new team of student leaders is preparing for the fall semester at BBC, aiming its focus on event planning and leadership development on campus.

The Student Leadership Council provides opportunities for spiritual, social, and academic growth among undergraduates. The SLC plays an important role, impacting students through facilitating social interaction and strong relationships.

BBC&SThe student government team is made up of executive officers, presidents and representatives from each class, residence halls and campus organizations. Members are elected by their peers to represent the student body and are advised by Student Activities Director Jonathan Strayer.

Members of the 2013-2014 executive team include Scott Cleveland. The incoming President is a senior Communications Drama major with a Youth Ministry minor from Carbondale, PA.

"Our foundational goal is to aid the student body in spiritual growth," he said. "I absolutely love BBC and I love helping people become more like Christ. I want the SLC to use its ability to positively impact the lives of students as we grow together as BBC students."

Before the fall semester begins, the Student Leadership Council and residence hall staff return to campus for a week of training and preparation. Student leaders develop healthy team relationships, plan events, and build leadership skills for the school year.

BBC&S prepares students for global Christian leadership through opportunities like the SLC other service projects. Students gain hands-on leadership experience while taking knowledge from the classroom and immediately using it on campus.

Baptist Bible College & Seminary offers an outstanding Christian education through on-campus, online, and other distance learning options. Students go beyond the ordinary, learning to serve with excellence as they gain critical leadership and life skills.
