Comedian headlines special Celebration night at BBC&S

Humorist, writer, and performer Kerri Pomarolli brings her unique brand of humor to the BBC&S stage on Friday, October 12, an evening highlight of the campus' annual Celebration on the Summit homecoming weekend.

An award-winning columnist and contributor to national magazines, Kerri is also the author of a popular new book, "Guys Like Girls Named Jennie."

The special event is at 7:30 p.m., in the Phelps Student Center. Tickets are $10 each in advance and available on the Celebration website. Tickets are $15 each the day of the event.

Previous Celebration weeks have included special events with comedian Michael Jr., humor group 321 Improv Comedy, and illusionist Harris III.


Making People Laugh
A Michigan native, Kerri says she found her comedic calling at age two. She learned how to tell jokes and became addicted to making people laugh.

After her college years, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She graduated from the two-year program at well-known Second City and studied at the Groundlings for Improv. She relates that one night, after much prayer, it was apparent that God had plans for her to do stand-up comedy.

Today, along with many other platforms for her humor, she continues to work the comedy club circuit and is in high demand. Her tours cover much of the United States and Canada, as well as a range of television programs.

Her latest DVD is on sale now: "Two Comics Walk Into a Church," which also features her comedian husband, Ron McGehee.
