Ritch Kelley began his teaching career in 1982. Since that time, he has had the opportunity to teach a variety of elementary grade levels, serve as a reading specialist, and teach at the college level. Before coming to teach at BBC in 2002, Dr. Kelley taught at Penn State University and Maranatha Baptist Bible College. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Kelley also serves as chair of the Professional Ministries Division.

Looking back on his teaching experiences, Dr. KelleyĆs most special memories are when he had the blessing of helping lead children to Christ. It is always a joy to watch students learn, but there is nothing in the world like watching a young life changed by Jesus Christ, he explained.

Dr. Kelley's favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9, which reads, Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

This verse became even more meaningful to Dr. Kelley five years ago when his father was in a tragic accident that paralyzed him from the neck down. Dr. Kelley praises the Lord for the continued life of his father and recognizes how much he has learned through the situation. I have learned not to be afraid of what may be, but to have courage and faith in what God can do, he shared.
