Banquet features celebrations, BBC Choice Awards
To celebrate the 2011-12 academic year, BBC&S students, faculty and staff gathered April 27 for the annual Spring Banquet.
An annual tradition, the red-carpet-themed banquet was held at Genetti Manor in Dickson City, PA. The event combined fellowship with fine dining and fun in a semi-formal atmosphere, closing the school year in a unique and memorable way.
The evening program included the "BBC Choice Awards" presented by the Student Leadership Council. Ken Shepard, BBC&S Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing Services, served as master of ceremonies.
The program included videos created by each residence hall and the presentation of awards by various faculty members.
Among the award winners were:
- Director of Safety and Security Ken Morris for Most Likely to Brighten Your Day.
- Student Jocelyn Mantz for Best Smile
- Student Wagner Heitner for Most Valuable Athlete Not on a Sports Team
- Professor Dr. Janet Hicks for Most Enthusiastic Professor
- Student Scott Cleveland for Most Likely to be Seen in the Underground Cafe.
The Most Likely to Go Beyond Award, for the person who displays enthusiasm and passion in ministry and in life, was given to Lauren Eichelberger, a freshman Specialized Ministries major. She is helping lead "Restore Her," a nonprofit ministry fighting against human trafficked.
"What a blessing to receive this award," Lauren said. "My greatest desire is to live a passionate life for Jesus Christ, however crazy or radical that may be."
Recognition and Impact
Two Student Investment Awards were presented by the Student Leadership Council to Allen and Ronda Dreyer and Don Patten for their excellence in building into the lives of students.
