Chamber Singers preparing for South Africa tour

The BBC Chamber Singers will be ministering in more ways than just song this spring. The group is traveling to Durban, South Africa to serve in local churches and engage in various ministry projects.

The 16-voice ensemble, directed by Dr. David Harris, will be overseas during and after Spring Break, from March 10 - 27.BBC&S

The Chamber Singers perform in a variety of venues in different states throughout the year. They have also traveled to the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Jamaica, and Ireland.

BBC's Concert Chorale will also be traveling through New England over Spring Break. They will perform at locations in Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and New York. They will be ministering in several churches and Christian schools.

The team will be accompanied by BBC&S Vice President and Provost Dr. Jim Lytle and Mrs. Diane Lytle, an Adjunct Professor. The couple served as missionaries in Durban, South Africa for 14 years prior to returning to BBC&S in 2007.

"It has been a growing experience raising the money, and I can only imagine what God's going to teach us and how he's going to stretch us while we're there," said junior Traci Thompson. I'm excited to sing and praise the Lord with fellow believers and hopefully impact lives for Christ."

Music at BBC
BBC offers training for professional music careers through four programs: Music Education, Church Music, Music Ministries, and Worship Pastor. A minor in music is also available.

Students who are not studying music are also involved in the music ministries of the Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers, and One Accord. Each groups' repertoires include many musical styles.
