Dr. David Lackey began teaching Bible classes at BBC eight years ago. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Dr. Lackey lived in Chattanooga, TN, where he taught Bible at Tennessee Temple University for fourteen years. His other responsibilities in Tennessee included overseeing Temple's correspondence school, ministering as an assistant pastor for twelve years, and preaching on the radio each week.

During his time in Pennsylvania, Dr. Lackey has ministered by filling the pulpit for area churches. He has had the opportunity to preach in twenty churches so far, several of which he was in for more than a year at a time. He and his wife Betty have been married for 28 years and have two children. Their daughter Amanda is a dental assistant, and their son Eric is in the military. A little known fact about Dr. Lackey is that he once held a purple belt rank in Kung Fu. Some of his more current hobbies are woodworking and reading. In fact, if you need to find Dr. Lackey on a Saturday morning, be sure to check Borders bookstore, where he will be reading something that “makes him think.”

When speaking of his father, Dr. Lackey states, “My father always insisted on being biblically based, despite what everyone did or said. This taught me to evaluate beliefs and actions from the Word rather than tradition or current fads.   I have seen great men and Christian institutions come and go, but God's Word is the one constant that will never die.”
