Missions Conference, Day of Prayer bring unique focus
Day of Prayer, special chapels, and a variety of workshops brought an important focus on missions and outreach to students during BBC&S' Global Ministry Forum.

Unique Focus
The week was a powerful time of equipping students for evangelism through development of practical ministry tools. Special chapel speakers and interesting evening workshops presented by visiting missionaries were highlights.
Special speakers included:
- Mark Henzler, a veteran missionary and a regional professor of biblical studies in Central America and the Caribbean. He and his wife, Diane, have served as missionaries with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism in Peru, Chile, and Togo for over 25 years.
- Evelyn Stone, a missionary with ABWE in Lima, Peru, and in ministry for more than 25 years. She is a professor at the Baptist Theological Seminary of Lima, Peru, in the Biblical Counseling Department. Also in Lima, Evelyn serves as International Training Consultant for Baptists for Life.
- Rich Howard is a Tri-M Missionary with Evangelical Baptist Missions He serves in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa.
"I liked hearing about what the missionaries are doing and where they are," said Clifft Wandell, a junior in the Business Administration program. "Mark Henzler had a challenging and encouraging message: that we can be involved in ministry wherever we are."
Day of Prayer
Held every semester, Day of Prayer serves as a time for students, faculty, and staff members to come together to focus on and pray for needs at home and around the world. Students also had a special time of prayer with their floors, suites, Resident Assistants, and Residence Directors.
As part of Global Ministry Forum, visiting missionaries took time to introduce themselves and give details of their work and their heart for the people they serve.
In the afternoon, students and visitors met in smaller groups in dorms across campus. Visiting missionaries spoke, prayed with students, and answered questions.
