Elaine Brown is in her fourth year of teaching in BBC's Health & Physical Education department. She is a former student of Ohio State University and a loyal fan of the Buckeyes who loves to attend sporting contests whenever she travels back to her home state.

Dr. Brown greatly enjoys physical activity, and in recent years, God has been teaching her a lot about being thankful for the ability to participate in these activities. Due to knee problems, she has learned to rely on God through physical adversity. She said, “The inability to engage in physical activity has not only affected me physically, but also every other aspect of my being. During this time, God has been teaching me to slow down and examine my life. Psalms 46:10a says, ‘Be still and know that I am God.'” Dr. Brown now has two prosthetic knees that enable her to continue participating in the activities she loves.

Some of Dr. Brown's other hobbies include golf, photography, traveling, and collecting teddy bears. While Dr. Brown has numerous interests and hobbies, she recognizes that true joy cannot come from any of these things. Instead, she is quick to affirm that her true joy and greatest privilege come from being identified with her Lord Jesus Christ.
