TLC continues tradition of equipping young leaders
Students and youth workers packed the BBC campus for two week-long conferences in July and August, building on a more than four decade track record of success in equipping young leaders.
Teen Leadership Conferences brought nearly 900 people to northeastern Pennsylvania, with students and youth workers challenged to stretch others and themselves in their Christian faith.
The 2011 TLC weeks will be July 18-23 and July 25-30. Details will be posted later in the year at www.bbc.edu/tlc.

Set for its 43rd year in 2011, TLC has changed the hearts of both teens and their leaders, giving them a sharper understanding of skills along with knowledge to enhance their ministries.
"I went into TLC this year just coming off a missions trip thinking I don't need help, that I can do it on my own and I can find God alone," said Kyle Bolvard, of Doylestown, OH. "I learned I can't grow in Christ on my own. I need the wisdom of other believers, prayer, and devotionals. I came out a much stronger man in Christ, praying I will be able to stand up for the Lord in my public school."
"I want to thank all the leaders and counselors. They really mean a lot to me."
Students and youth workers from across the country attended various workshops and enjoyed corporate worship sessions. The two, week-long events train students to be leaders in their local church youth groups and impact their churches and communities for Christ.
Featured speakers included veteran Christian ministry leaders, including Dwight Peterson, Mel Walker, Errol Morgan, Tony Tice, Don Jackson, Mike Show and Jeff Stimpson. Free time for games and ministries, powerful evening events, and time alone for prayer and reflection were among the special activities set aside for students and youth workers.
Earlier this summer, BBC's first-ever Boot Camp for junior-highers drew more than four dozen students and youth workers to campus, helping seventh- and eighth-grade students understand the basics of the Christian faith and build a strong foundation for continued growth and leadership development in their high school years.
The 2011 Boot Camp will be held July 11-15 for students entering seventh and eighth grades.
