Volunteers Weeks provide family refreshment, campus improvements

A new roof for the Stowell Seminary Building, heating system upgrades in several residence halls, and assistance at the under-construction Kempton Athletic Center are among the projects volunteers will tackle this summer at BBC&S.

Volunteer Weeks draws dedicated workers to campus each summer, combining hands-on service with an inexpensive family vacation.

The 2011 weeks are June 19-25 and July 10-16.

Special Work
Volunteers Week =Volunteers help in several areas of need around the campus and facilities each year. Some jobs involve specialized skills. Others just require a willing spirit.

Dedicated workers that come each summer prepare the campus for the upcoming school year, benefitting and encouraging the Maintenance Department.

Projects for this summer also include general maintenance needs and work to enhance the beauty and function of the campus.

Family Tradition
The May family of Ira, VT, have coming to Volunteers Week for several years. BBC&S alumni Eric and Ingrid bring their five children each year for a family vacation of service, refreshment, and fun.

The only cost is $15 per person for meals for the entire week. Housing is free and childcare is available. Volunteers also have access to school facilities and activities.

Summer On Campus
BBC&S hosts several camps, conferences and events each summer on campus, including Teen Leadership Conference, the LYFE Women's Conference, the Men's Conference, Boot Camp for Junior Highers and five Defenders Sports Camps.
