BBC float part of local Memorial Day parade

A specially designed float featuring a replica of the iconic Jackson Hall tower was featured at the annual Clarks Summit, PA, Memorial Day Parade, the first such participation by Baptist Bible College & Seminary.

The float featured a nine-foot bell tower, American and BBC Defenders flags, and 12-foot banners with "Baptist Bible College" in bold blue letters. The back of the float included "Go Beyond" in blue and orange with a white backdrop.

About a dozen people participated on the float, next to the float, and in the attached truck. The volunteers launched t-shirts into the crowd and walked along handing out candy, colorful flyers, and cinch-sacks.

Many students, faculty, staff, and their families attended the parade, which included American flags up and down Main Street, numerous lawn chairs on grassy sidewalks, and a range veterans groups, high school bands, fire trucks, and more.

"This has been well received," said Ken Shepard, Vice President for Enrollment & Marketing Services. "It was a great response. BBC needs to show that it is part of the community."

Special recognition goes to those who helped build the float, particularly Project Manager Ruth McDonald, Director of Enrollment Sean MacPherson, and Admissions Counselor Drew Whipple.
