Miss Susan Cagley has been teaching in the Social Studies department at BBC for the past six years, but she has been a teacher for 22 years. She pursued music and history education in college and had the opportunity to teach K-12 vocal music before the Lord led her to focus on social studies education. She has had the privilege of using her teaching and music education in a broad range of service opportunities which include: recording a praise CD, presenting workshops at conventions, attending the National Teachers Forum (1999), and mentoring new teachers.
The area of Little Rock, Arkansas, was home to Miss Cagley before she moved to Pennsylvania. Each summer, she takes a trip back to Arkansas to visit friends and stock up on warmth. When she isn’t teaching, Miss Cagley enjoys reading non-fiction, working on counted cross stitch projects, and being involved in music ministries at church and in the community.
For the past two summers, Miss Cagley has had the opportunity to visit and be involved in work at the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute in Virginia. When asked about her experiences there, she states, “This has become an annual tradition for me, incredibly helpful to my teaching, and fun for a historian!â€Â
