Special Awards Chapel links donors, students

The joint power of giving and learning was on display at Awards Chapels at Baptist Bible College and Baptist Bible Seminary, moving times of celebration and blessings.

Linking donors with recipients while celebrating outstanding student achievement was the focus of the annual event at BBC, this year held on April 9 in the Phelps Student Center.

Awards totaling $70,950 were distributed through 88 student scholarships during the ceremony. Those in attendance offered applause and cheers in recognition of the recipients.

The Baptist Bible Seminary event was held April 30. A total of $21,180 was distributed to 26 recipients. Additionally, eight book publishers distributed awards to 12 recipients.

Special scholarship money is set aside for students who meet specific criteria designated by the donors. Academic achievement, student involvement, and financial need are also considered, with professors and department heads nominating individuals for each award. The nominees are later reviewed by a Financial Aid committee.

Awards chapel, held at the end of each spring semester, serves as a special time to highlight hardworking students, as well as those who give so generously to support the school.
