Dr. Dennis Wilhite's background includes 20 years in youth ministry and 14 years as an educator and administrator at Baptist Bible College. He currently serves as Chair of the Global Ministries Division at BBC and is also the founder of Pilgrimage Educational Resources, an educational organization helping churches, schools, and other organizations design and produce active learning opportunities for their people.

Dr. Wilhite and his wife Marlene have four grown children and four grandchildren. He enjoys spending his time canoeing, sculling, and wandering around the woods as it provides a quiet, yet active, solitude or the opportunity to interact with a small group of people in a focused setting. While many books have left deep imprints on his thinking, Dr. Wilhite says John Bunyan’s Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners is a particular standout.
