Students, staff take day to serve in community
Showing appreciation through service to the area around its Clarks Summit, PA, campus is the goal of Baptist Bible College's Community Appreciation Day.
Classes will not be held on Tuesday, November 3. The day will be used for hundreds of students and staff at BBC to address area needs and demonstrate servant leadership in the greater Scranton and Lackawanna County area.
Teams will be working on several different projects, including volunteering for the day at local organizations. Those who will be assisted include Scranton Rescue Mission, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Clarks Green Shade Tree Commission, and Summit Christian Academy. In addition, groups will be serving in Clarks Summit area neighborhoods by raking leaves and doing other fall cleanup work.
Service and outreach are vital aspects of student life at BBC. For details, contact Jonathan Strayer, Director of Student Activities, at jstrayer@bbc.edu or 570.585.9318.
Community Appreciation Day is held annually each fall. Watch a video from a past Community Appreciation Day here.
