Student Preaching Weeks offer valuable experience

Baptist Bible College & Seminary students are gaining unique, hands-on learning during chapels this spring, with selected leaders preaching and teaching during the morning on-campus worship.

BBC students spoke at chapel during the week of March 23. BBS will feature students during its Student Preaching Week beginning April 20.

Students from Dr. Don McCall's Advanced Expository Preaching class chose three students to speak during the week at the college. The students were Samuel Arent, Gregory Howard, and Matt Owlett.

Samuel is a junior in the Specialized Ministries program. During his message, he focused on believers finding joy in suffering. Gregory, also a junior in the Specialized Ministries Program, chose to examine justification by faith through Christ's redemptive work on the cross.

The final speaker, Matt Owlett, a junior in the Pastoral Ministries program, spoke about the relationship between sanctification and justification.

BBC's Pastoral and Specialized Ministries programs supply students with many opportunities for hands-on application and experience. The goal is to equip them to be effective in their future ministries and well prepared to influence people for Christ.

Baptist Bible Seminary offers students a genuine blend of rigorous academic content and transformational hands-on applications. Five advanced degrees are available in several flexible formats. To learn more, call 800.451.2287 or email pgolden@bbc.edu.

Such hands-on experiences develop character and competency. Real application of what is presented in the classroom helps to create stronger church and ministry leaders. BBC&S professors have years of experience in ministry. Their ability to teach and mentor is part of what makes the programs so powerful.

Baptist Bible College & Seminary offers 38 academic programs, from a one-year Bible Certificate to PhDs. Programs are available through the Clarks Summit campus and several distance learning options. To learn more, go to www.bbc.edu or call 570.586.2400.
