BBC features special comedy about family

"Over the River and Through the Woods," a comedy by Joe DePietro, will be on stage at Baptist Bible College in March.

It is the story about a young Italian-American, Nick, who has remained close to his grandparents in New Jersey but has been offered a job in Seattle. Once they find out that Nick plans on taking the job, his very family-oriented grandparents go to outrageous extremes in order to keep him close.

Under the direction of Dr. Brian Maxwell, the spring production will feature six talented BBC students.

Nick Cristano ... Robby McKenzie
Frank (Nick's maternal grandfather) ... Matt Owlett
Aida (Nick's maternal grandmother) ... Mollie Buis
Nunzio (Nick's paternal grandfather) ... Andrew Filler
Emma (Nick's paternal grandmother) ... Liz Kambic
Caitlin O'Hare ... Britney Gray

The play will be presented March 5,6, and 7. Performances begin at 8 p.m. in the Phelps Student Center.

Tickets are $10 and will go on sale Monday, February 16. Contact the Box Office in the Office of Student Development at 570.585.9000 for details. All students can buy tickets for $5. The price for alumni and senior citizens 55 and over is $6.

Dr. Maxwell has been teaching, and directing plays at BBC for 22 years. He holds degrees in communications, theatre, and ministry, has studied theatre in London, England and Edinburgh, Scotland, and received his Ph.D. from New York University's program in Educational Theatre.
