Church Ministries Conference draws nearly 300

Nearly 300 pastors and church workers attended the just-concluded Church Ministries Conference at Baptist Bible College & Seminary, a special two-day event designed to enhance the ministry of anyone who serves in a local church.

The second annual conference featured more than four dozen workshop options in children, youth, adult, general, leadership, and outreach ministries. Special sessions for pastors and worship leaders were also be available.

The seminars were held April 17-18 on the Clarks Summit campus.

BBC&S Vice President and Provost Dr. Jim Lytle was the keynote speaker. A veteran educator and missionary, Dr. Lytle and his wife, Diane, served on the mission field in Durban, South Africa, for 14 years before returning to Baptist Bible in 2007.

Nearly two dozen speakers from academia, ministry organizations and the pastorate led sessions. Workshops were geared toward anyone involved in church work and volunteering. This included teachers, greeters, counselors, youth leaders and seniors.

Workshop sessions featured tools, ideas and lessons applicable to all church ministries. The sessions were designed to be highly interactive to meet unique needs and situations faced by those in attendance. Topics included classroom management, helping teenagers transition, connecting with adult learners, training people to share their faith, and improving the function of your team.
