Financial Aid Process

Key steps in the financial aid process:

FAFSA
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1. You will need information from your 2007 Income Tax forms in order to complete this application. (If you must file your 2007 taxes late, we recommend using estimated numbers on the FAFSA and sending the actual numbers at a later date.) You can complete the application online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Completing the "FAFSA on the Web" shortens processing time and reduces errors. If you prefer to use the paper application, you may request one by calling the Department of Education at 800.4.FED.AID. Remember to enter Baptist Bible College, code 002670, in step 6. After completing this application, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR).

Student Aid Report
Review the Student Aid Report you receive from the federal processor for accuracy, and make any necessary changes. If no corrections are necessary, keep the Student Aid Report for future reference.

Verification
If the government selects your Student Aid Report for a process called verification, please respond promptly to BBC's request for documentation. This will include signed copies of the student's and parents' or spouse's (if applicable) federal tax returns and Verification Forms. Return the forms to the BBC Office of Student Financial Services.

Loans
Once you have been accepted, paid your $250 deposit, and received your FAFSA, we will send you an "Award Letter," which will show costs and your financial aid as of that date. At this time, you will be given loan options and instructions.

BBC Grants
In addition to Federal and State Grants, we offer the BBC Grant to each eligible student. That means you will receive between $2,750 and $5,000. Please refer to the table located under Scholarships & Grants. We also encourage you to pursue the scholarship opportunities listed in Helpful Resources and those that may be available in your home town.
