History of Vibbard
Miss Hazel Vibbard was one of Baptist Bible Seminary’s original full-time faculty members. Miss Vibbard served the college as a teacher, registrar, and operator of the bookstore. Those who knew her described her as a woman who exhibited both humility and modesty. She retired in 1957 after 25 years of faithful ministry at BBS. Vibbard Hall is named in her honor.

Fast Facts

  • Last year’s theme for the women of Vibbard Hall was “Being Transformed into Christlikeness.” Because Romans 8:29 says that this is God's goal for our lives, the women of Vibbard seek to understand how they can be more like Christ by denying self and living through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • Dorm traditions include: Hosting The Late Skate for the student body and putting on the Vibbard Tea as an appreciation to staff and faculty women.
  • The women of Vibbard enjoy spending time together talking, playing games in the lounge, or having spontaneous praise and worship times involving two or more guitars.
