About Roddy:
Roddy was born in Maryland in June 1975. Because of this, he is both a Baltimore Orioles and a Baltimore Colts fan. He grew up working hard in school because it did not come easy. After graduating high school, he determined never to attend college. He decided he would find his way through life doing what came easy for him: working with his hands. He soon discovered he had a natural ability to fix things and figure out how things work. It was through a God-ordained set of circumstances he ended up attending BBC and graduating in 1998 with his B.S. While at BBC, he met his wife, Amy, also a Marylander. After graduation, both Roddy and Amy stated that they would never go back to BBC. They were ready move on to a new chapter in life. But God had different plans, as they have now been at BBC for almost 10 years. He and Amy have two great kids; Madelyn Joy and Mark Shaffer Hannah (aptly named after the building that has had such an impact on the lives of each member of the Hannah family). Roddy recently graduated with an M.S. in Counseling Ministries and is currently serving as the school’s Director of Career Services.

History of Shaffer
Rev. Jack Shaffer joined the BBC faculty in 1948, teaching both New Testament and Greek. The popular young instructor became the first supervisor of the men’s dormitory and served as advisor to the sophomore class. A heart condition resulted in the 28-year old teacher’s death the following year. A few months later, the men’s dormitory was officially named “Shaffer Dorm” in his honor.
