Matt Pollock
Dean of Students

A 1985 graduate of BBC, Matt has served full time on campus since 1992. He has held a wide variety of positions, including Financial Counselor, Dean of Men, Director of Student Activities, Women’s Basketball Coach, and currently as Dean of Students. From 1993-1998 he and his four daughters lived in Barndollar Hall where his wife Rosemary served as the Resident Director. He has also been instrumental in many special initiatives and projects around the campus, including the establishment of the Underground Café, Growing Leaders Conference, and assisting with Teen Leadership Conference for 23 years, from 1986 to 2008. Beyond the BBC campus, he currently serves as a deacon at Summit Baptist Bible Church and teaches middle school students every Sunday morning.
Carol King

Carol has served at BBC since 1989 as a teacher, counselor, and administrator for various programs. She joined the Office for Student Development in 1993 as Dean of Women. Prior to her ministry on campus, she and her husband Jim served as missionaries to Chad, Africa. She has a special heart for helping missionary kids adjust to campus life. She also assists students with learning disabilities as the Director of Learning Support Services. Her love of writing keeps her involved off campus in a writer's club and on campus as the advisor to the school magazine, The Anchor.

Ted Boykin

After graduating from St. John’s University, Ted enrolled at Baptist Bible Seminary and earned his Master of Divinity degree. He joined BBC&S teaching part time in 1989 and in 1993 became a full-time faculty member and Resident Director of Christen Hall. After their marriage in 2000, he and his wife, Sherry, moved into Loescher Hall to continue their ministry together and were soon blessed with the birth of their daughter, Katherine Anne. He serves as a deacon at Summit Baptist Bible Church where he has also given leadership to the "college and career" ministry.
Roddy Hannah

After high school Roddy had decided not to attend college but rather make his way through life working with his hands. God's plan, however, led him to BBC in 1995. He graduated in 1998 from the counseling program and completed a graduate degree in counseling in 2007. He has served on campus for 10 years in various capacities, including maintenance, Resident Director of Shaffer Hall and most recently Director of Career Services. Initiating career guidance has been exciting and challenging as he seeks to help students make good decisions and wisely choose their steps in preparation for their God-given career path. In 2009 Roddy, his wife Amy, and their two children moved from Shaffer Hall to take leadership of Ketcham Hall.
Ken Morris

Ken came to BBC after serving as a local police officer in Gloucester Township, NJ. He became familiar with the school's ministry when his two sons were students. With retirement on the horizon, he and his wife Shirley began to feel God moving them to consider possible opportunities at BBC. In a step of faith, they moved to Clarks Summit in 2007 as Ken continued commuting to New Jersey to complete his tenure with the police department. He began working on campus for a few hours a week in maintenance and is now the Director of Safety and Security, training, guiding, and overseeing our student security guards. His wise insight, solid character, and warm spirit make a positive impact on campus.
Mike Show

Coach Show, a 1992 graduate, has seen much success on the regional and national levels as a coach of the men’s basketball team. He currently serves in multiple roles in the Athletic Department including Director of Athletics, Assistant Coach of men’s golf and Head Coach of men’s basketball. In addition, he has represented BBC across the country as a popular youth speaker. God has specially gifted him to use athletics as a tool for ministry and he is highly sought after for basketball clinics and camps. Outside of basketball, he loves to play golf and spend time with his wife, Valerie, also a BBC alumnus, and their six children.

Jonathan E. Strayer

A 2002 BBC graduate, Jonathan is a part time member of the OSD team as well as the Resident Director of Ridley Hall. He and his wife, Rachel, have been involved with workshops and academic programs at BBC, as well as creating and managing their own drama ministry, Ghostlight Productions. Having earned a master’s degree in theatre from Bowling Green State University, Jonathan has taught at Marywood University and Penn State's Scranton area campus and is currently an adjunct professor at Keystone College. His experience with productions on a "shoe-string budget" and working with a team of volunteers make him well suited for our unique student activities program.

Nancy Patten

Nancy came to BBC with her husband Don from Grand Rapids, MI in 2010. She received her nursing degree from Grand Rapids Junior College and has been in serving in that field for 27 years. She has worked in a variety of areas from outpatient surgery to pediatrics. She enjoys being on campus and getting to know students that come to see her. She also enjoys attending chapel.

Amber’s ties to BBC are deep. Her parents, Roger and Dawn Jacobs were dorm parents in Shaffer Hall for much of her childhood. Her grandfather, Dr. Ernest Pickering, was president of BBC&S from 1970-1978. Her other grandfather, Dr. Jack Jacobs, was a professor and department head at BBC. Amber was a star player at Abington Heights High School from 1996-2000 and then at Boston College before embarking on a five-year professional career in the Women's National Basketball Association.
Ronnie Chastain

Ronnie joined Baptist Bible College & Seminary in July 2004. He is the Athletic Trainer for BBC and Resident Director for Christen Hall. He enjoys assisting in teaching the Care and Prevention class for the Health and Physical Education program as well as providing quality athletic training for BBC sports teams.

Summer began working in the BBC Admissions Office in 2008. She joined the Office for Student Development in 2011. She enjoys being involved in student ministries with both teens and elementary-age students. She has two brothers and two sisters, an adorable niece, an amazing adoptive family in Clarks Summit, and a cute little puppy.
