Music is more than notes on a page. It is a marvelous testimony to the God of order, complexity, and beauty.

In Christian ministry, music plays an important role as we worship the Lord, edify and encourage believers, and preach the gospel.

With an ever increasing desire to see corporate worship made in accord with lives changed by the work of God, churches seek leaders who are competent musicians and able to lead the contemporary church in meaningful worship.

Our professors are committed to your musical training as well as your personal and spiritual growth and your development into an effective worship pastor, and capable church musician.

Core courses
We give you a strong foundation to understand and apply biblical truth through 42 hours of Bible and theology courses. A required set of General Studies courses supplements that foundation and enables you to consider the world in which you will minister.

You will then build on this foundation with 40 credit hours studying the specific disciplines of your field and determining how you can best apply your unique strengths, gifts, and abilities. The core courses of this program include the following:

Making the program your own
You will earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in Worship Pastor. You will graduate having completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Worship Pastor. You may elect to receive a B.S. in Bible instead.

As a student in the Worship Pastor program, you will have the opportunity for hands-on experience as you participate in BBC’s One Accord, Chamber Singers, or Concert Chorale, and other musical groups, all of which appear off-campus in concert tours.

You can also apply your education by becoming involved in opportunities to lead worship on campus, in local churches, Christian schools, camps and retreats.

Many options after graduation
As a student in the Worship Pastor program, you will have the opportunity for hands-on experience as you participate in BBC’s One Accord, Chamber Singers, or Concert Chorale, and other musical groups, all of which appear off-campus in concert tours. You can also apply your education by becoming involved in opportunities to lead worship on campus, in local churches, Christian schools, camps and retreats.

The program will ground you in the truths of the Word of God. A combination of challenging coursework, faculty mentorship and ministry experience will equip you to teach, disciple, and lead from a biblical worldview, connecting biblical truth to the attitudes, choices, and practices of worship.

BBC is recognized as one of the top ministry schools in the country and our graduates are in high demand. With a strong foundation in worship studies and music as well as theology, principles of ministry, and leadership you will be equipped to step into full time ministry, serve on a mission field, or continue on into a program at Baptist Bible Seminary.
