Today’s woman faces a broad spectrum of challenges. Some suffer daily persecution in oppressive cultures. Others are simply trying to juggle the many responsibilities of work, home, and community. Women from all walks of life deal with the hurt of broken relationships or abusive pasts.

Regardless of status and circumstance, women around the globe are bound by a common need: the need for a loving, growing relationship with their Savior and heavenly Father.

Our Women’s Ministries program prepares you to minister to women in a variety of settings, including the local church, the mission field, and educational and counseling venues.

Core courses
We give you a strong foundation to understand and apply biblical truth through 42 hours of Bible and theology courses. A required set of General Studies courses supplements that foundation and enables you to consider the world in which you will minister.

You will then build on this foundation with over 40 credit hours studying the specific disciplines of your field and determining how you can best apply your unique strengths, gifts, and abilities. The core courses of this program include the following:

Ministry Communications for Women
Ministry of Marriage and Motherhood
Women Counseling Women
Women in Christian Ministries

Making the program your own
Students in the Women’s Ministries program may choose to develop a specific focus in one of several areas including:

Youth Ministry
Office Professionals

Our faculty members have a wide-range of experience in women’s ministries, and will provide you with both challenging classroom instruction and a strong model of active leadership. Alumni of the program consistently testify that this combination produces a passion for both the subject material and the Word of God.

You will gain valuable hands-on experience through opportunities to serve in a variety of local ministries including regional church plants, local churches, and campus ministries. You will be required to complete seven ministry units. Two of these must be completed in a church-based, educational setting and at least two more must be earned through an apprenticeship to an older woman who is actively engaged in ministry. Through this “Titus 2 relationship”, you will build a critical foundation for effective future ministry leadership.

Many options after graduation
You will earn a Bachelor of Science with a major in Women’s Ministries. You will graduate having completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Women’s Ministries. You may elect to receive a B.S. in Bible instead.

A vast array of ministry opportunities will be available to you. Local churches are in need of full-time and lay leaders to direct evangelism, discipleship, youth, and counseling ministries designed specifically for women. You will find your training ideal for service to Christian ministries that meet both societal and spiritual needs, including educational abstinence programs, crisis pregnancy centers, battered women’s shelters, and addiction recovery facilities.

Our Women’s Ministries program will also prepare you for further study at the graduate level. You will be well-equipped to pursue degrees in counseling, education, and organizational leadership at a variety of graduate schools. In addition, you will be aptly prepared should you choose to serve in full-time missions or educational settings whether in the U.S. or overseas.

What they say
“I have really appreciated the way the professors have taken an interest in me personally. I know they pray for me and that is a huge encouragement and blessing in my life. What I most enjoy about the program is being able to tailor it to my desires, needs, gifts, and calling. The freedom students have to make the program fit what they need as God leads each of them individually in ministry is a big strength of the program.”
Jessica Minniear, BBC student

“One of the greatest benefits I received from the women’s ministry program was shadowing a director of women’s ministries at a local church. From this experience, I was better able to identify my gifts, weaknesses, desires, and goals as it related to this area of ministry. This specialized opportunity was a tool that guided me as I made decisions for full-time ministry.”
Jen Srail, BBC graduate, women’s discipleship at Maranatha Bible Church , OH

“The courses gave me the confidence to counsel and teach women. My mentor took time to counsel me when I was dealing with personal issues. She was a godly example while she was going through medical issues. Most importantly, she inspired me to seek after God with passion.”
- Kate Estes, BBC graduate, pastor’s wife at Calvary Baptist Church, Pulaski, NY
