Watch the TEACHER EDUCATION
Video
Teachers hold a unique position that allows them to impact the academic, social, and personal development of future generations. That’s why it is imperative they receive an exceptional education themselves.
At BBC, our goal is to equip you to effectively communicate with your students and reflect Christ’s love in and out of the classroom.

Making the program your own
To be officially admitted to a Teacher Education program, the Pennsylvania Department of Education requires you to complete 48 credits in general education classes, maintain a 3.0 GPA, pass the PAPA tests, submit an entrance portfolio, and submit to background clearances and verification of the absence of tuberculosis.
You will also be required to complete 90 field experience hours and pass required PRAXIS tests before student teaching in both a public and a Christian school.
Many options after graduation
You will earn a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in your chosen area. You will graduate having completed coursework equivalent to a double major in Bible and Education . You may elect to receive a B.S. in Bible instead.
Your B.S. leads to certification by the Association of Christian Schools International, and by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well. Pennsylvania currently has certification reciprocity with 44 states, most likely enabling you to teach in the state of your choice.
Depending on which education degree you pursue, you will be qualified to teach, aid, or substitute in a daycare center, pre-school, elementary school, or high school setting. Because BBC is a fully accredited institution, you will also be equipped to pursue a master’s degree in a more specific area of study.
What they say
“I felt very prepared by the teachers at BBC. I learned a lot more in the classes than I thought I had. Getting to put everything into practice allowed me to see all that I have been taught. BBC professors are very prepared. They know what they are teaching and know what they need to teach in order to make us shine in the classroom."
-
Sonya Butler, BBC graduate
“I felt privileged to be surrounded by faculty and staff who have a true heart to teach and train in a way that exemplifies excellence and commitment to impacting lives for Christ. The knowledge, skills, information, and attitude I take from BBC will serve well in my continued pursuit of excellence as a Christian teacher.”
